Two-factor authentication

Turn on two-factor authentication for your InfraFence account with an authenticator app, and what it protects - approvals, risky fixes and access to the organization's data.

Turn it on

Under Settings › Security, Turn on 2FA. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy or any app that supports TOTP codes), or enter the key by hand, then type the 6-digit code and Verify and turn on. From then on every sign-in asks for a code.

What it protects

  • Once 2FA is on for your account, nothing of the organization is readable with your password alone: the data opens only after the code step.
  • Deciding AutoMode approvals needs a session signed in with 2FA.
  • Applying a risky fix yourself needs it too.
  • The security score of every server loses 5 points while an owner or admin has no 2FA.

Turn it off

Turn off 2FA under Settings › Security.

Your password

Passwords need at least 12 characters with a lowercase and an uppercase letter, a number and a symbol, must not be common or contain your email's name, and are checked against known data breaches (Have I Been Pwned): only the first 5 characters of the password's SHA-1 hash leave your browser. Forgot password? on the sign-in page sends a reset link.
