Imunify360 alternative: features and price, compared fairly
Last updated:
In short
Imunify360 is a mature security suite built for shared hosting: its Proactive Defense watches PHP scripts as they run, and it is deeply integrated with cPanel and CloudLinux. If you sell shared hosting on cPanel, it is hard to beat. InfraFence is built for agencies and companies that run many Linux servers, with or without a panel: one dashboard for all of them, outbound and DNS detection tied to the program, fixes that are checked and undone if they break something, AutoMode and NIS2 report drafts. Its price is per server and does not depend on how many users or sites the server hosts.

Imunify360 price, and how it scales
As of October 2026, Imunify360 is sold per server, in tiers by the number of user accounts on that server: single user, up to 30 users, up to 250 users and unlimited. The list prices are $12 per month for a single user, $25 for up to 30 users, $35 for up to 250 users and $45 for unlimited users. Prices change; the current figures are on imunify360.com/pricing.
InfraFence is priced per server only. A server with one site and a server with three hundred cost the same: $8.90 on Basic, $18.90 on Pro and $28.90 on AutoMode per month, 20% less billed yearly, and the first server is free. For a hosting server packed with accounts the difference can be large; for a single-site server Imunify360's single-user tier is in the same range.
Where Imunify360 is stronger
- Proactive Defense. It evaluates PHP scripts while they run and can stop malicious behaviour as it happens. InfraFence has nothing equivalent; it finds web shells with its scanner and blocks attacks at the web firewall and the network.
- Shared hosting on cPanel and CloudLinux. Imunify360 is built by the CloudLinux team and fits that stack closely, including screens for the hosting customers themselves.
- Maturity. It has been on the market for years, is offered by many hosting companies, and cleans up malware automatically.
Where InfraFence is different
- A dashboard for every server, panel or not: VPSs, Docker hosts, Coolify servers and Kubernetes nodes sit next to cPanel servers in one live view.
- Outbound and DNS detection tied to processes. A compromised server calling home is caught by the program that made the query, not only by the address it reached.
- Verified fixes. After every change the agent checks that SSH and your monitored sites still answer, and rolls back by itself if they do not. On every plan.
- AutoMode. The AI applies safe fixes from a fixed catalogue around the clock and asks before anything risky.
- NIS2 reports. Drafts of the early warning, notification and final report, built from the events.
- A price that does not grow with the number of users on the server.
Running Imunify360 and InfraFence together
The agent is designed to run next to Imunify360. It detects it, leaves Imunify360's firewall, address sets and web firewall alone, and keeps to its own INFRAFENCE chains: both block independently. Both scan files, and InfraFence never deletes or moves a file on its own, so the two scanners do not fight over the same file.
A possible split: keep Imunify360 on shared-hosting servers for Proactive Defense and add InfraFence everywhere, for one view of the whole fleet, outbound detection and reports.
When to choose Imunify360 instead
Imunify360 is the better choice if:
- you sell shared hosting on cPanel or CloudLinux and want PHP protection at run time;
- you want malware cleaned up automatically, without reviewing each finding;
- your hosting customers should see security screens in their own panel today;
- most of your servers host a single user, where its entry tier is priced close to InfraFence.
Try InfraFence on a server that runs Imunify360
Imunify360 keeps running. A read-only check runs before anything is installed.
- 01
Create the install token
In the dashboard, open Servers › Add server. The token works once and expires after one hour.
- 02
Install the agent as root
The check reports Imunify360 as detected and explains what the agent does next to it.
curl -fsSL https://github.com/infrafence/infrafence-agent/releases/latest/download/install.sh | sudo bash -s -- --token <TOKEN> - 03
Watch first, in monitor mode
Monitor mode detects everything and blocks nothing. See what InfraFence finds that you did not see before, outbound and DNS especially.
- 04
Then decide per server
Keep both where Proactive Defense matters, use InfraFence alone where it covers what you need, and compare the cost per server.
